How does Restylane® work?
As a filler, specific formulations of Restylane® may be introduced to precise treatment areas through injections. Our team, led by Dr. Lesley Clark-Loeser and Dr. Marianna Blyumin-Karasik, uses very thin needles and exacting and artful techniques to safely and gently apply Restylane® to targeted treatment zones. By reintroducing HA, you notice smoother, softer, and overall better-looking skin. Fillers like Restylane® also have a cushioning effect. As the filler is introduced, Restylane® adds volume to recontour areas that have sustained volume loss and softens lines and wrinkles, like how a balloon becomes smooth as it is expanded.
What formulations are available to me?
Of course, we will not know the best option for you until our doctors properly evaluate your skin. There are primarily seven different formulas under the Restylane® family at PSI. They start with the “signature” Restylane® product to soften moderate to severe lines and wrinkles in the lower portion of the face. From there, we can discuss formulations to correct or improve everything from sunken cheeks to deflated lips. Each is designed a little differently, and our doctors are happy to discuss these nuances with these during a consultation and to determine the most appropriate course of action.
The cheek area is my biggest concern. What might be the best option for me?

Defyne is appropriate for these lines and marionette lines extending from the lips to the chin. It can also be used to enhance chin projection. Refyne treats the same conditions but may be appropriate for less severe or deep wrinkling than its Defyne counterpart.
Can you plump up my lips without making me look “overfilled”?
