What is Emface®?
Emface® by BTL Aesthetics is a rejuvenating treatment for the face. It uses RF as well as another type of technology to treat both the skin and the muscles of the face. Due to this blend of technologies, this “hybrid” treatment lifts and sculpts and also softens depressions such as lines and folds.
What technologies are used?
Emface® uses a special type of RF (“synchronized”) to deeply warm the dermal layer of the skin. This controlled heating then encourages the production of collagen and elastin, proteins and fibers that are naturally made by the body and contribute to the skin’s firmness and elasticity. The second technology that is incorporated into Emface® treatment is known as HIFES™, which stands for “High-intensity focused electromagnetic energy.” In short, HIFES™ is characterized as a form of “muscle stimulation,” which targets and tightens slack and depressed areas of the face to increase muscle volume, density, and tone. The structure of the face is bolstered.
What areas can be treated?
Emface® uses applicators designed for specific areas of the face. These areas are the forehead/above eyebrow region and the cheeks or “mid-face.” These areas tend to show their age and often sustain volume loss. These changes can result in a sunken appearance, saggy tissue, and pronounced folds and wrinkles. Additionally, Emface® submentum may be applied to target excess skin in the neck/chin area. We can effectively treat a double chin without using scalpels or needles.
