What is a “neuromodulator”?

What makes Dysport® different from Botox®, Xeomin®, etc.?
Dysport® has actually been around for a long time and was first administered in the U.K. in the late 1990s (as a treatment for certain muscle spasms/movement disorders). It was later approved by the FDA to treat lines that affect the glabella between the eyebrows. These “frown lines” may be moderate or severe in appearance. While similar to other neuromodulators, each product is engineered with slight differences. Depending on your needs, certain products may be more appropriate for you than others. Dysport® is generally injected with very fine needles into five targeted areas between the brows. You can still frown and move your face, but only the treated/injected muscle is not activated. It remains relaxed to soften and smooth your wrinkles.
